The Tampa Bay Buc’s Own the Eagles
It’s been hard to muster up the motivation to write about the Eagles. Harder than I thought it would be. But here we go. I thought the Eagles would lose this game. And I said, it would not be the end of the world. Going 2-2 while missing AJ, Devonte, Lane, is not terrible considering we can go into the bye week and get healthy. However, I also said to myself, “just don’t get destroyed”. And they got destroyed, embarrassed, obliterated, just any word you can think of to describe the domination of the Buc’s over the Eagles. For whatever reason, the Buc’s own the Eagles. Ever since they closed out the Vet by beating us 27-10 in the NFC championship game in ‘03. Not an excuse by any measure, but something we need to accept before we can overcome it. Even with that said, this team should have at the least, put up a good fight. Instead, they came out flat. Shot themselves in the foot multiple times. Looked unprepared and uninterested.
And the defense that looked so great in the last game, looked horrendous. I don’t care about the heat. Both teams played in the heat. That just means to me, our players are just not as well conditioned as their players. And players like Bryce Huff and Nolan Smith are non-factors, and it is absolutely ridiculous. Quinyon Mitchell is the only bright spot on this defense. Saquon Barkley is the only bright spot on the offense. Outside of those two, blame for how we look like the same team that fell apart last year, falls on everyone – players and coaches alike. The bulk of the blame, however, is on Jalen Hurts and Nick Sirianni. And I do not care if they don’t fully get along or like each other. Grow up, act like you get paid to do this, and figure it out. Because making us fans watch this dreck is unacceptable.
